When you hear The Board of Directors its time to get up and
boogie! If you're into having a funky good time this
is the band that ignites the party and gets your feet
moving, heart pounding and soul shaking!
The Board of Directors has been headlining northern California
nightclubs since 1988 and has attracted a large
following of enthusiastic fans. By fusing New Orleans
Funk, Chicago Blues and Rock and Roll, this four-piece
group creates a high energy, dynamic, original sound.
Chris Burkhardt (vocal, bass, and harmonica), Terry
Olson (drums), Jim Spangler (guitar), and Blain Deaton
(keyboard) are skilled musicians who collectively move
and mesmerize listeners with tight arrangements and
blood stirring improvisation.
There is always an element of surprise at a BOD show. Interaction
between the band members themselves and with the
audience is always exhilarating and exciting. The bottom
line is that these guys have serious fun playing music
together and it shows. Their debut CD Choke Chain Blues
(BOD SHNK-001) received critical acclaim at the South
Bay Blues awards. Currently The Board of Directors can
be seen performing at venues around the San Francisco
and Monterey Bay areas. They are currently in
